Annual Simulcast
Future Safety Champions Learning from Today's Leaders
The 5th annual Our Youth at Work Simulcast event approaches:
Date: Friday, April 17, 2009
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. EST
Contact for more information: Nina Cooper
The Simulcast Presentation is divided into two parts:
- The first half hour consists of a video feed from Rob Ellis telling his story and bringing a hard-hitting safety message.
- The second half hour is devoted to students' questions. This interactive element gives executives a great chance to interact with emerging young leaders.
Our Target: to involve 100,000 students at this event to meet and greet corporate leaders in workplace health and safety. For most students, the Simulcast is the first time they can interact with a company president face-to-face.\
Virtually every company that has participated in the Simulcast (we started in 2005 with six companies and six schools) has returned to a second, third or fourth Simulcast event!
Your Corporate Commitment:
1. Creating a Champion Team consisting of your company's President or CEO, at least one HR or H&S executive, one frontline worker, and one young employee.
2. Notify OYAW of the number of your executives who attend the Simulcast luncheon. Please indicate if your CEO/President wishes to speak briefly at the luncheon.
3. Donation to Our Youth At Work - our federally registered foundation behind the Simulcast and this website. Our Board of Advisors suggests at least $5,000 to give you access to presenting at a high school, training and the Simulcast luncheon.
Our 4th Annual Simulcast, held in April 2008, was the largest and most powerful safety outreach event undertaken by Our Youth At Work. More than 100 corporations sent their executives to more than 100 high schools in 50 cities across Ontario to reach out to students about the importance of workplace safety - all in a single morning!
