• Speaking to management and unionized staff at an East Coast utility company the other day, I learned the most remarkable thing that happened there: two employees came up with a new form of protective clothing to save field workers from burns!

It seems there was a growing rate of serious injuries with arc flashes associated with the utility industry. Any material that isn't cotton-based would literally melt to the employee's skin if the flash hit the person. This has been a real hazard for utility field workers around the world - for decades!
