mediaMySafeWork joins Twitter!Submitted by jessica on Mon, 12/01/2008 - 14:31.It's official: MySafeWork is now on Twitter - the social media platform that combines instant messaging with micro-blogging and is handy for reaching likeminded folks with real-time messages (and fabulous for use in crisis communications, too, such as Twittering terror in Mumbai recently, and updating the public on the California wildfires a few months back). Some of the great Twitterers we are now following include: Dumb and Dumber on YouTubeSubmitted by heather on Fri, 11/14/2008 - 10:58.Who doesn't love to laugh at a crazy homemade video on YouTube: a cat doing the jig, a sportscaster making an embarrasing blunder, a young guy.... driving his forklift backwards on two wheels??!! That's right, an Australian 20-year-old thought it would be a hoot to drive his hoon forklift at top speed backwards with the rear wheels off the ground, performing burnouts, and crashing into a concrete pipe... That was dumb. Deadly dumb. He then proudly loaded the video onto YouTube... no, really. That was dumber still. Bull Riding, Sunday Afternoons & SafetySubmitted by jessica on Sun, 11/09/2008 - 18:48.So it's Sunday afternoon - my favorite time of the week to doze off on my couch while sluggishly flipping from station to station. Usually, I end up watching some weird public television program that is just boring enough to let me have a great nap. Today however, I couldn't find anything that caught my attention. I watched the end of a football game that the Tennesse Titans easily won and then I stumbled across a bull riding show from LasVegas. Maybe I'm not very cultured - but I have never really seen a bull riding show. Positive Outlook and The OfficeSubmitted by Anonymous on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 19:26.The people who have the best outlook on life and most positive perspective are people who are optimistic - recognizing the positive aspects of each day and treating them as a gift. It is true that we all face days where it’s raining on our side of the street and everyone else seems to have a cloudless sky overhead. Those are days that no one welcomes... but when we choose to look at our own situation with a sunny disposition, it really affects how we perform. Some Days are Bloodier than OthersSubmitted by heather on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 10:33.I am still reeling from watching BloodyLucky.ca - very upsetting short videos showing young lady with serious burns from chemicals splashed on her face, a deli worker slicing his finger off, a shoe sales girl falling backwards off a ladder... I couldn't get past that. Do I suggest you watch them? Bloody right, I do, and show them to your teenager who's new in the working world... please. Just don't do so just after they, or you, have eaten. |
