Additional details:
I was at the location investigating a critical injury caused by a lack of training. Some rigging gave way on a lift with a mobile crane and the rigging of the load failed and came down and struck a worker . The worker lost his leg and almost his life because of a lack of respect for the scope of work and the importance of training and safety. Local 793 is actively trying to change the requirements for hoisting and rigging and making it mandatory to have refresher training every 3 years much like “working at heights” .
